Hello folks, Pinion_Blue - forum moderator of www.qcf.ca here (you may remember our radio show interviewing Mike a couple months ago)
anyway, to business
Recently it came to my attention that a bot by the name of "FuntKlakow" is registering to hundreds of thousands of phpBB based forum systems and is preparing a massive attack on the system. Any forum with the bot will be affected by the attack, which threatens to completely erase server backup data and shut down each forum it infects. All Mods and Administrators please search your system for this bot or anyone you may think is a bot and delete them immediately, then patch your system. Its set to trigger at the next announcement of a critical flaw in the phpBB system, so hurry and check your forums as quickly as possible.
Oh and just so you know, this isnt one of those crazy bulletins you get everywhere. I wrote it myself, because i encountered the bot on my forums.
Being a fan and a friend of the site, i thought i would let you all know what was going on and what you can do to stop it.

Hey Punchy-
Thanks for the heads up- nice work!
I sent it off to Ribosome, he's working on updating the script and doing any patching, I did a search for "FuntKlakow" and there isn't anybody, but I also disallowed that name from being created, hopefully that will do enough to block this. Plus I just backed up the forum and site databases just in case....

i try, i try.
...told ya id be a good mod (just kidding....ive got enough on my plate as is. You try doing three to four radio shows, moderating a forum, writing a third book and proofreading the two before it and working on a feature film.....im tired pretty much all the time.....its kinda like when chicks with big boobs do push ups....its hard)
